Christopher Bomil, PsyD
I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Military & Veteran Psychology (MVP) from William James College. I have had a wide variety of experiences that have given me the tools to work with clients from adolescents, to adults.
Finding a therapist that is a good fit for your needs can be one of the most important factors to getting help. In therapy, I believe there is no one size fits all approach to treatment. I’m dedicated to tailoring treatment to fit an individual’s needs.
I am knowledgeable in treating a wide variety of mental health challenges, using individual, group, couples, and family therapy. I have experience working with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, mood disorders, depression, substance use disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and more. I also have experience in using psychological testing to comprehensively diagnose, make recommendations, and help guide referrals. My approach to treatment emphasizes teaching coping skills, increasing autonomy and self-esteem, reducing stigma, increasing awareness, and discovering pathways to recovery on mental health issues through relational and multimodal pathways.
Also, I have a special interest in treatment of military veterans. As a veteran of the US Navy, I believe it is easier to talk to someone who ‘gets it’. In fact, a focus of my education was in military and veteran psychology, giving me experience in military psychology and culture; military families and the cycle of deployment; trauma and the military; psychoactive substance abuse in military and veteran communities.
Education
I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Daniel Webster College in Nashua, NH in 2016. In 2018, I received an en route Master of Arts in Professional Psychology from William James College. In 2021, I received Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from William James College.
